Ahmed Alawadhi is an assistant professor at the Department of Interior Design in the Basic Education College of Kuwait. He received his bachelor in Interior Design from Kuwait, an MFA from Iowa State University, and his PhD from University of Missouri-Columbia. He worked as an interior designer in design firms at Kuwait for 5 years. His works have been internationally and nationally recognized from award competitions as well as academic acknowledgment, including the 2nd place in 2012 IDEC interior design video competition and an honorary mention from the 2009 Retail Design Institute (RDI) Annual Student Competition. His line of research inquiry is in retail interior design, consumer behavior, and virtual reality technology in the design domain.
